Gui Hua can be used in cases of chronic or acute cough, abdominal distention, bloating, indigestion, and bad breath. Most often, Osmanthus is used to garnish rice cake desserts like nian gao, brew an autumnal rice wine at the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, steep a floral tea, or sprinkle on dessert soups or morning porridge. Some may even use to make a homemade mouthwash for bad breath.
